This Small Block Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from legendary Napa vineyards notable in their own right. The Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper vineyard from Oakville is the backbone of the blend, a vineyard first planted in 1877 to grapes, prunes and walnuts, typical of the time.
An exotic impression, followed by dark raspberry and plum and tasty down under style black licorice.
Our signature Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our estate Veeder Hills Vineyard. The elevation of this vineyard ranges from 600-1,120 feet, and its steep slopes and sedimentary clay and shale soils restrict root growth, resulting in Mount Veeder’s hallmark small berries with intense fruit flavors.
Located near the summit of Mount Veeder, our Small Block Malbec from the Veeder Summit Vineyard is supple and sensuous, with flavors of blackberries and dark fruits along with a touch of jam and peppery spice that allows the wine to linger.
Hints of dusty cocoa and vanilla dominate in the aromas wafting from your glass, leading to deeply colored, intensely flavored dark fruits with chewy tannins.
... blackberry, boysenberry and black cherry. Oak spice from the French oak adds a racy note...
Distinct notes of vanilla and oak spice from aging in American oak add to the personality of the wine, surely one of our most popular Napa offerings.
Carignan is one thing, but Carignan on old bush vines in a sandy vineyard that dates back to the 1880’s is really something quite special.
