“The color is noticeably black with violet hues leading to aromas of black fruits, licorice, cassis and currants, very deep and brooding. As you taste, you’ll find flavors of fresh blueberries and darker blackberries, topped with spicy notes of clove, allspice and cinnamon. The mouthfeel is silky sweetness, with a dense coating of fig jam. Underlying it all are round, fine grained tannins which suggest a wine built for aging. Structured, well balanced and supple it demands pairing withhearty and spicy fare such as ribs or Osso Buco, or pastas rich with red sauce, graced on the side with Blue Cheese. Our pastry chef oen suggests a pairing with rich, dark chocolate and Tiramisu.
