Our Story

Tim and Sabrina Persson are visionaries of next generation luxury wines. Investing in the future, they are driven by the need for expression and connection through these hand-crafted wines.

The Perssons are fundamentally an international family with roots in Southern Africa, Ireland, Switzerland and London, yet Napa Valley is where they have found their true calling. The “Lions Head” name pays homage to the family emblem—the lion—and represents Lions Head mountain, a place in South Africa very close to Tim’s heart.

In their first years, Tim and Sabrina were truly tested by nature.​ Fires and mudslides threatened their winery, and an earthquake in 2014 destroyed their cellar, crushing the tanks from the inside out. ​

But these setbacks only fortified their desire to persevere. ​They rebuilt the Lions Head cellar, investing in the most progressive winemaking technology available today and in first-class, sustainable vineyard practices that now give life to this collection of brands. ​
