FROM THE WINEMAKER
“Made with fruit sourced from among the most unique AVAs in Sonoma County, Moon Mountain, this Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the essence of this appellation located on the eastern edge of Sonoma County known for steep slopes and high elevation. More recently established in 2013, the Moon Mountain AVA delivers wines that are characterized by deep, dark fruit qualities. Our 2019 Moon Mountain Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is inky and opaque with aromas of blackberry and boysenberry pie. On the palate, intense, rich flavors of black fruits, vanilla and baking spice are followed by structured tannins.”

VINTAGE NOTES
Each vintage presents a unique set of conditions, and we approach every year ready to face the challenge. Vintage 2019 began with occasional rains and cooler temperatures, which brought soil saturation and allowed fruit to mature steadily. Summer helped the grapes to ripen, and the warm days and cool nights of the Fall fostered gradual sugar accumulation and longer hang times. Harvest began slightly later than normal in some areas, with fruit picked at its peak, promising exceptional flavor in bottle.
